Poison Ivy

Scott got the itch to go fishing last week, so he loaded up the kids and off they went. With one fishing pole and two made out of sticks they had a great afternoon of sticky worms and smelly fish. Tristen woke up the next morning with small spots of Poison ivy on one arm and a few small spots on her cheek. We got her some steroids the same day and we expected it to go away. Not to be. We went to the doctor, then to a dermatologist to figure out, yeah she does have poison ivy, but she is also having an id reaction. She is very sensitive to the poison ivy and her whole body broke out in a very itchy swollen rash. She now has a dumbo ear and her eye is swollen shut as a result. So now she is on another round of steroids. I thought it was getting better yesterday but this morning she was swollen up like a bloated tick again. It does not help that her meds are cherry flavored and the smell alone is enough to make one gag. I mixed it with OJ and 1 hr and 37 minutes later the last drop was gone. Tristen has a sensitive gag reflex so it has always been hard for her to take medicine.
